About

In Grand Prix Garage, every team becomes a race team with a garage to run. The mission is to build an almost full-size race car from a self-assembly kit within a tight time frame.

Once the car is built, teams turn to style, decorating it with colors, mock sponsor logos and team branding so it stands out on the track. Some teams go for speed, others for style, and the best manage both.

Then race day arrives. Cars line up on the grid, the checkered flag drops and they are off, each with one driver at the wheel while teammates push it down the track.

Fast pit stops can make or break the result, so teams practice their routine before the big race. A podium ceremony crowns the top three teams in style.

Learning outcomes

Teams have to allocate roles well and work closely across different skills so the build stays on plan and on time. Clear roles keep people from getting in each other's way as the car takes shape.

It is a demanding project that needs buy-in from every team member to succeed. Teams that plan their steps before building usually finish with time to spare.

Styling the car lets everyone show their creative side and put their stamp on the final design.

Because the race can be won or lost in the pits, teams practice and refine their process, learning how small improvements add up. The race fuels friendly competition, and the podium gives everyone something to cheer about. The finished cars make for great team photos.
